Abstract
Introduction: We
report here a case of an intramural hematoma of the esophagus. The extension of
this was from cervical esophagus to lesser curvature of stomach intramural
hematoma.
Case: This very rare
event in older women is more common in and can be missed as cardiovascular or
emergent disease of esophagus.
The most common
clinical presentations are severe chest pain, dysphagia or odynophagia and mild
hematemesis. The common risk factors are blunt, penetrating or iatrogenic
injuries, Valsalva maneuver and antiguagilan medication, in literatures
spontaneous cases have
also been reported.
