Luciano Corazza MD, born in 1952, retired from NHS for age in 2018, currently is Consultant Gastroenterologist & GI Endoscopist at D’ Amore Hospital GVM, Italy. From 2017 to 1981 in the Surgery Department at ‘Madonna delle Grazie’ Hospital, NHS, Matera, Italy, he covered professional positions of Head of Interventional Gastroenterology Unit, Acting Director of Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy Division, Chief of Surgical GI Endoscopy Section in the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Departmental Unit, Consultant and Assistant Surgeon with GI endoscopy activity in the General Surgery Division. He held besides the positions of Project Manager of Colon Cancer Screening and RUP, Responsible of the Procedure in charge of the competition of medical devices for digestive endoscopy at ASM, National Health Administration, in Matera.
He completed his MD Degree in 1977 cum laude at University of Pisa, Italy and his Forensic Scientist and Pathology Degree in 1982 cum laude at University of Siena, Italy.He holds a Master in Management of Health Care Facility in 1987 at Region Basilicata Medical Board, Italy and a Specialization in Defensive Medicine and Mediation in Healthcare at the National Institute for Continuing Education in Rome in 2013.
He attended in Italy and abroad Stages, Learning and Improvement Courses in Gastroenterology and GI endoscopy and Workshops in advanced Training Courses in GI endoscopy concerned with new procedures in interventional endoscopy and new technology as MUSE Medigus Ultrasonic Surgical Endostapler, Spiral Enteroscopy, Video Capsular Enteroscopy & Colonoscopy, Robotic Colonoscopy ‘E-Worm Endotics ’.
He has performed to date more than 45.000 GI endoscopic procedures and over 15.000 interventional GI procedures in the upper, lower and biliary GI tracts, also in emergency.
He took part to “phase IV Trials of the drugs†in Gastroenterology and Digestive endoscopy and as co-author, collaborator or investigator in many of Italian GI Multi-centric Observational Studies and several Scientific publications.
He is Member of Scientifics Societies, including SIED, ESGE, ASGE, IG-IBD. He was component of the Forensic Commission of SIED, Italian Society of Digestive Endoscopy. He is Honorable Editor of ‘Gastroenterology & Hepatology Journal’ and Member of Editorial Board of ‘Gut and Gastroenterology Journal’.
He has participated in over 200 National and International congresses, courses and conference in Gastroenterology and GI Endoscopy also as Speaker, Moderator or Discussant.
