My career in hepatobiliary surgery began at UFRJ with Prof. Joaquim Ribeiro, friend, teacher and advisor. Later I had the opportunity to specialize in several centers of the world in the area of ​​transplants and diseases of the liver / pancreas, highlighting the following experiences:
- University of Nebraska - United States: As a fellow, I gained technical refinement and immense clinical experience;
- Chang Gung Memorial Hospital - China: I had the opportunity to be mentored by Prof. Chao Long Chen in which he is one of the main living transplant centers in the world as well as surgeries of hepatocellular carcinoma;
- Nagoya University - Japan: where I specialized in the treatment of malignant tumors of the pancreas and biliary tract under the supervision of Prof. Yuji Nimura and Prof. M. Nagino;
- Asan Medical Center in Seoul - South Korea: where I continued developing as a professional working with Prof. SGLee and his team.

I am currently a professor in the Department of Surgery at the UFRJ School of Medicine , as well as Head of the Abdominal Surgery and Transplant Service at Adventist Silvestre Hospital . Adventista Silvestre Hospital is one of the main reference centers for hepatobiliopancreatic surgery (with more than 150 procedures per year) and liver transplantation in Brazil (performing more than 100 transplants per year), thus being a training center for young surgeons in this area. with results comparable to those in North America.
